Today we received an email from the agency. Our dossier has made it to them in Ethiopia. We are "officially waiting". We are so excited to be to this point. Form here on, it is out of our control. Now for an update on the timeline. I spoke with Angela at the agency on Monday to get a feeling for the wait. She let me know that getting 2 under 24 months will be tricky and may take longer. We considered changing the age range to maybe 36 months or so but feel that this is not necessary. We are going to stick with up to 24. She said to expect to wait 8-10 months for our referral. Typically infant boys take 6-8 months and girls 8-10 but she wanted us to have worst case in waiting for 2 hence the 8-10 months. We now hope that by the end of the year we will have our referral and if we are really lucky, we will have our babies home by Christmas. Some of the challenges with requesting 2 are that they both have to pass court and that in itself is sometimes tricky. Also, BFAS our agency only has court dates twice a month so if you do not pass, you wait weeks and possibly weeks. If one child passes and not the other, you run the risk of one waiting while the other is still trying to pass court. Reasons for not passing court include, health and missing of incorrect paperwork. We have faith that the path we are on is the right one. We know we are supposed to go for 2 so we pray everyday that these boys will be healthy and happy. Often time I recall and dear friend of mine saying, "things always work out for the Forstroms." Let's hope this continues to be the case. We welcome any prayers. :-) On a side note, another crazy thing about this, is that in 4 months we could get a call with a referral, so you just never know. I will try and post about once a week. It's hard to always have things to write about as not much changes. Feel free to keep up with our day to day fun as we wait on the family blog www.forstromfam.blogspot.com.
